Having asthma can present lots of challenges. You might have to be careful about where you go (like smoky places) or avoid things you like, such as family pets. Still, there’s one thing you do not have to do – and that’s deal with asthma all by yourself.
There are lots of people available to help you understand your asthma. They include:
- Your family doctor
- Your asthma educator
- Experts at Asthma Canada
- Your pharmacist, respiratory therapist or other members of your healthcare team
Sometimes, though, what you may need is another person with asthma to share stories, tips or feelings with. You can meet people just like this by joining the Asthma Canada Member Alliance (ACMA).
