Research Study Opportunity for Canadians with Asthma

We are sharing a new research study that you may be interested in participating in. This study involves interviews to learn about the experiences of people living with ‘severe asthma’ or asthma that despite good compliance and trigger management is difficult to control, and requires a different level of care than milder versions

We are looking to speak with 15-20 interested individuals. Virtual interviews will occur from July to August 2022, and participants will be compensated $100 for their time and expertise.

To participate you need to:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Live in Canada
  • Be fluent in English
  • Complete an eligibility questionnaire about your asthma and medicine that you take for it

If you are interested in participating, please email Andrea Bever, the project manager at Broadstreet (a health researcher based in Canada) to schedule a short phone/Zoom call to learn more about the study, and to find out if you are eligible to take part. Contact details are below. We will ask that you have your asthma medications with you at the time of the phone call to help us determine if you meet the eligibility requirements.

If you are eligible to participate in the study, you will then complete a one-time interview that lasts about one hour. The interview will take place online with Broadstreet. Your participation in the study will be kept private and you will not be identifiable from the research in any way. The findings of this study will be used to help talk to government decision makers about the importance of asthma research and treatment options from the perspective of people living with severe asthma.

Thank you for considering collaborating with Asthma Canada in this important study!
