A.C.T. on Asthma: Asthma Awareness Month & Beyond

At Asthma Canada, we’re dedicated to helping the 4.6 million Canadians living with asthma lead healthy, symptom-free lives. But right now, 1 in 2 people with asthma in Canada have uncontrolled asthma—and many don’t even realize it. That means millions are living at risk of serious health issues, emergency room visits, and limitations in their daily lives.

During Asthma Awareness Month and beyond, we’re asking you to take action and A.C.T. on Asthma.

Here’s how you can A.C.T.:

A – Assess your asthma
Start by using our brand-new Asthma Self-Check. It only takes a few minutes and will help you understand whether your asthma is truly under control.

C – Claim your free Asthma Control Pack
We’ve created a free Asthma Control Pack filled with helpful tools, information, and resources to support your asthma management journey.

T – Talk to your doctor
Bring your Self-Check results to your next appointment. Having an informed conversation with your healthcare provider is a key step in taking control of your asthma.

Asthma – Stories from the Community Webinar

On Thursday May 29, to wrap up Asthma Awareness Month, we held a webinar filled with candid, insightful conversations with a panel of individuals living with asthma. Moderated by Josh Rheaume, they shared personal stories, challenges they’ve faced, and how they’ve found their path to living well.

Asthma Awareness Month Community Stories

Josh lived with severe asthma his entire life, which often held him back from doing the things he loved.

His story shows that with determination and the right support, it’s possible to gain control of your asthma and live life to the fullest.

Amber was just 14 years old when she tragically lost her life to an asthma attack.

Her story, shared by her mom Kim, is a powerful reminder that asthma is a serious, life-threatening disease — and why the work of Asthma Canada is so vital.
