As we look back on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who stood with Asthma Canada—our donors, volunteers, partners, researchers, advocates, and the thousands of people who turned to us for support.
This year has shown the remarkable impact we can achieve when we come together to support the more than 4.8 million people in Canada living with asthma.
Thanks to your support, 2025 became one of our most transformative years, highlighted by the launch of our 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, A Pathway to a Symptom-Free Future, and a new research strategy designed to drive Canadian asthma research forward over the next five years.
Our Impact in 2025:

Behind these numbers are real people—parents seeking help for a child, adults looking for better asthma control, and families searching for answers. Your support ensures that they never have to navigate asthma alone.
Research: Striving Towards a Future Without Asthma
Our mission is a future without asthma and we believe research is key to getting there. In 2025, your generosity helped us continue funding some of the brightest minds in Canada.
- Over $225,000 awarded to asthma research – investing directly in Canadian-led research that reflects regional needs and diverse patient experiences.
6 researchers supported across Canada (Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec) – enabling early and mid-career investigators to pursue innovative, high-impact asthma research.
4 Canadian and international research studies published/co-authored – contributing to the global body of evidence that informs better asthma prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
These researchers are advancing our understanding of asthma, driving innovation in treatments, and giving hope to millions. Your commitment fuels discoveries that bring us closer to a future without asthma.
Advocacy: Amplifying the Voices of People Living with Asthma
This year, with your support, we helped people across Canada share their experiences and drive meaningful change in asthma care and policy.
50+ policymakers and government officials engaged – advancing advocacy priorities focused on improved asthma care, including access to Certified Respiratory Educators in primary care and essential treatment options.
Queen’s Park Lobby Day delivered – bringing people living with asthma face-to-face with policymakers to share lived experiences and influence health policy decisions.
Leadership of the Lung Vaccination Working Group – uniting lung health organizations to improve education, awareness, and uptake of immunization against vaccine-preventable illnesses such as influenza, pneumococcal disease, RSV, and COVID-19.
Active participation in federal advocacy coalitions – working with partners such as the National Lung Health Alliance and the Health Charities Coalition of Canada to push for greater investment in health research, improved indoor air quality policies, and a national lung health strategy for Canada.
At the heart of these efforts are real people—families, adults, and children with asthma—whose experiences guide our advocacy and help shape better care.
