Asthma Awareness Month 2026 runs from May 1 to May 31, 2026.
2026 Theme: Asthma Attacks
Building on last year’s focus on asthma control, we are turning our attention to asthma attacks—how to recognize them and what to do when they happen. Throughout May, we will share practical information, resources, and updated guidance to help people identify the signs of an asthma attack and respond quickly and confidently.

Share your story
This Asthma Awareness Month, your experience can make a real difference. When people hear real stories, not just statistics, they are more likely to understand, remember, and act.
Your story could help someone recognize an asthma attack and respond in time. Email info@asthma.ca to share your story and a member of our team will reach out to you.
Make to our Asthma Awareness Month Appeal
During Asthma Awareness Month, every donation to Asthma Canada will be matched by our generous sponsor, Bruce Power, up to $50,000. That means your impact is instantly doubled — $25 becomes $50, $50 becomes $100, and so on. Help us reach more people with life-saving awareness about asthma attacks.
Start a fundraiser
If you want to take your impact further, you can start a personal fundraiser for Asthma Canada.
Every dollar raised through your page will be eligible for matching through Bruce Power, meaning your impact is automatically doubled. It only takes a few minutes to set up, but the impact continues long after May ends. Email info@asthma.ca to start setting up your fundraiser now.
