🫁 C.A.R.E. is reaching more communities across Saskatchewan! Asthma Canada was delighted to hear that our C.A.R.E. asthma attack messaging was recently shared with 600 locations across Saskatchewan, including clinics, pharmacies and Tribal Councils. This was made possible through the ongoing collaboration between @lungsask and @heartandstroke. We’re so happy to see this important information reaching more people and communities. Why does it matter? An asthma attack is a potentially life-threatening emergency. Recognizing the signs of an asthma attack and responding quickly could save a life. 🚨 If an asthma attack happens: C.A.R.E.:
C - Calm: Reassure the individual and help them stay calm.
A - Air: Sit the person upright and tell them to take slow breaths.
R - Rescue: Help them find and use their blue rescue inhaler.

Asthma Canada welcomes the recent update to the Alberta Drug Benefit Formulary, which now includes coverage for the AeroChamber2go Chamber. With a valid prescription, patients are now eligible for reimbursement for one chamber size per year. Studies show that up to 80% of people use their inhaler incorrectly, and technique can worsen during an asthma exacerbation, especially when attacks happen away from home.
