Asthma Canada is proud to once again support and attend the Rudhro Prince Memorial Walk in Ottawa, an annual event honouring the life and legacy of eight-year-old Rudhro Prince, who tragically lost his life following a severe asthma attack in 2018.

Now in its eighth year, the Memorial Walk brings together families, healthcare professionals, community leaders and supporters to remember Rudhro, raise awareness about asthma and advocate for better education and support for children and families living with the disease.

The event will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Andrew Haydon Park in Ottawa, with participants able to take part in a 1 km family walk or 5 km walk. The day will also feature family-friendly activities, including a DJ, face painting, henna and a bouncy castle.

For the Prince family, the walk is a powerful way to keep Rudhro’s memory alive while turning their loss into a message of hope and action. The Rudhro Prince Hope Foundation was established to continue his legacy by raising awareness of asthma and supporting children, families and communities affected by the disease.

Asthma Canada is honoured to stand alongside the Prince family and the Rudhro Prince Hope Foundation in this important work. Rudhro’s story is a reminder that asthma is a serious condition and in many cases, can be fatal. By increasing awareness, improving asthma education and ensuring people have the support and care they need, we can help prevent avoidable asthma emergencies and save lives.
