“It’s absolutely shocking that in 2025 we are stil “It’s absolutely shocking that in 2025 we are still having the same conversations around scents in the workplace,” said Jeffrey Beach, President & CEO of Asthma Canada. “People need to understand that scents — for those with asthma and/or allergies — can be extremely serious and have the potential to trigger a life-threatening asthma attack. It’s #WorldCOPDDay. Are you ready to #SpeakUpforCO It’s #WorldCOPDDay. Are you ready to #SpeakUpforCOPD? Today, we are hosting a worldwide social chat day to shift the political focus on #COPD. COPD is a global public health emergency—it is the 3rd leading cause of death in the world,* impacting 391 million people. While awareness is growing among decision-makers, political action and funding still significantly trail other chronic diseases, according to a 2025 Ipsos survey of policymakers. As Jose Luis Castro from @who affirms: “It's time to raise COPD on the political agenda. Early intervention, fighting stigma, and targeted investment are key.” Join the movement to drive policy change: 🟡 Comment on our posts with your professional insights, data from your country, policy recommendations, or experiences fighting the barriers of stigma and underfunding. 🟡 Post your own messages using #SpeakUpforCOPD to amplify your expert perspective and call for change. @gaapporg
